Meet Olaf!
When Amy left she took the i30 with her, we had bought that car for her, so I facilitated her purchasing that for what we owed on it. With that going, I talked dad into letting me purchase an x5 to supplement the Patrol for work, mainly in an effort to save on fuel (the x5's fuel bill would be so much smaller than the Patrols that it would cover its finance payment, and ultimately save the company money).
Of course I also just wanted a BMW, so sue me 🤷♀️
After hunting about for a bit I found one down below Hobart that fit the bill and the budget:
This one was a little rough here and there, it needs a new trim on the drivers mirror, the cluster screen is cracked and there are some well used marks on the interior, mechanically its A1, but I left feeling a bit meh about the cosmetic issues, so on the way back home I stopped in at Hobart to take a look at this one:
This one is a higher spec model and its pristine, its got the M-Sport package, which includes flares, nicer wheels and paddle shift. But it didn’t take me long to realize that the white one is the car for me.
The white one has a DPF delete, and boy howdy did the blue one feel dopey after driving it, particularly down low in the rev range, oh and it sounds awesome.
I made a few calls on the way home and a two weeks later Rob took me back to Hobart to pick her up.
On the way back home we stopped in at the Walls of Jericho historic site, Ive lived here my whole life, been past this spot many times, but never stopped in for a look. It was raining and miserable so we didn’t stop long, we found a cache in the area and then headed home.
